Let's TalkShowsSuperman & Lois

Why I’m Excited for the “Superman & Lois” Series

Superman has been appearing in the Arrowverse for a few years now, popping up in Supergirl as well as being in the crossover shows. When he has appeared he’s always been a standout, even though he’s got hate and trolled on the internet, I’ve always loved this version of Superman.

I’ve always wanted a spin-off show for him, ever since Supergirl started to go very political. The show itself got announced back when the Crisis event was happening on the CW.

The show has been filming over the course of 2020 and we finally got our first official trailer a couple of weeks ago which showcased Superman, Clark, and Lois moving back to Smallville and introducing the viewers to their children.

What I took away from the trailer was that it felt like the show had a bigger budget than other CW DCTV shows like The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and especially Supergirl had in previous seasons.

I love Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent, he fits the role insanely well, he gets the Superman side correct, and also manages to nail the Clark Kent side of Superman as well.

Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane is also really great and such a welcomed addition to the Arrowverse as Lois. I loved how she was in the crossover event and not only was she great as Lois but Elizabeth and Tyler also have great chemistry which makes the relationship between Clark and Lois even better.

The show is also bringing back great characters from Clark’s past such as Lana Lang, Morgan Edge, and General Lane. Not to mention David Ramsey is also returning for a cameo in one of the episodes as Diggle.

I do feel like the show will be a standout, and it will quickly be on par with the early seasons of Supergirl with how good it’ll be. I just hope it doesn’t go the same route as the Supergirl show.
