007 First Light is a thrilling narrative action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive. The game follows James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6’s training program, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy.
The upcoming James Bond video games looks fantastic, and judging by the trailer above, looks like it will be a fantastic addition into the James Bond franchise but one thing I can not get over is, why have we not had a James Bond series?
Recently, we’ve had many spy/military movies and shows. We’ve had some successful projects like Reacher, Jack Ryan, and Michael B Jordan’s “Without Remorse”. They’ve all done pretty well as either a movie or, in the case of Reacher and Jack Ryan, a series.

So why have we not had a series for James Bond that showcases his early days or years as the spy we all love and who is the most famous spy in the world? I think an early years series focused on James Bond would be amazing.
Don’t get me wrong, the movies are fantastic and decent, but when you look at it as a whole, it’s the same stuff just repeated and repeated throughout the franchise, albeit with a different actor in the role. The movie showcases Bond as a fantastic spy who goes around saving the world and getting the girl. It’s the same stuff in every movie.
A series that expands on his early years, how he came to be the best spy, how he become this figure that MI6 call upon when needed. It would be fantastic. There is so many young English actors who could pull off a series like this.
Hell, if they wanted to, they could fully invest into the theory that James Bond is simply just a title, and that would explain why the actor for James Bond (in universe that is) is always different yet the people around him stay the same.
