5 Magical Directions Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Take After the First Game

The first Hogwarts gave fans the Wizarding World adventure they had been dreaming of. Players explored Hogwarts in the 1890s, battled dark wizards, and uncovered ancient secrets. It’s been a few years now since the first game, and fans are wondering what’s next for the sequel.

Here are some directions that Avalanche Software could take to make Hogwarts Legacy 2 even more magical.

Avalanche Software could move beyond the 1890s, and perhaps in the early 1900s, and have the game connect loosely to the Fantastic Beasts timeline, or go backwards to a medieval Hogwarts for a darker, ancient magic tone.

Each era could shift the gameplay and world design. An older Hogwarts might feel more mysterious with forbidden magic playing a larger role within the game. They could introduce the founder’s lore into it. Give us stuff with Godric, Salazar, Rowena, and Helga, or even let players witness early wizarding society.

The sequel game could make the house identity truly matter. The first game, when you decided on your house, barely affected the gameplay throughout the game. It was kind of a letdown in that aspect. The sequel could make each house a unique experience.

Gryffindor could be about daring missions and combat perks, while Ravenclaw could be about puzzle-solving or spell efficiency, while Hufflepuff would be about herbalism and potion mastery, while the iconic Slytherin would be about stealth, persuasion, or dark magic options.

Having house-based side quests and rivalries could deepen the replay value.

One of the things I loved about the first game was the world. It was fantastic, but I felt like it could have offered more. Let players move beyond Hogwarts and visit places like Diagon Alley, Azkaban, The Ministry of Magic, or foreign wizarding schools, like Durmstrang, Beauxbatons, and Ilvermorny.

Imagine traveling through the Floo Network or Portkeys to explore new regions with distinct cultures, laws, and magic styles. You could be able to pick up new and unique spells for each region. This would make the overall world feel like an actual wizarding civilization, and not just a school.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 has a golden opportunity to go beyond Hogwarts and truly deliver a personal wizarding journey. Whether that be through deeper choices, richer lore, or a more alive school. The sequel could turn the fantasy of “living in the Wizarding World” into something unforgettable.
