Invincible “You Look Horrible” Review

Season 4 Episode 6 – “Family bonds are put to the test. Under pressure, Allen makes a new friend.”

What I Liked

1. Thaedus opens the episodes by giving a speech. This is up there with an Optimus Prime speech. Honestly, Peter Cullen could narrate my life, and I would be complete. This opening scene, the speeches of war, is a great opening cause of Peter’s narration.

2. It’s going to take months for Mark to heal. So at this time, we see Oliver and Nolan bond. We get to see Nolan fight some creatures that actually can put up a fight. It manages to swallow Nolan, but he just rips out of its stomach.

3. Allen and Techjacket make a break for the coalition of planet ships, but Techjacket is at max speed and is about to be caught by the two Viltrumites. Allen gives her a boost and begins to fight both Viltrumites at once. Space Rider comes in clutch and manages to kill one of the Viltrumites with his weapon, and also takes out their ship too.

4. Nolan and Oliver actually speak about Oliver’s mother and his people. Nolan explains what the people are like and how they know their lives are short. Nolan explains that his going to that planet was a mistake, but Oliver was not. They continue to bond while Mark still recovers.

5. I do like how the episode showcases both the war and the months that Nolan and Oliver are waiting for Mark to heal. It’s not too in-depth, seeing the war scenes, but we do get scenes where we see just how brutal the war actually is.

6. Mark finally awakens and goes to Conquest’s grave. He finally meets up with Oliver and Nolan, and he reunites with them both. Mark is shocked to realize that he has grown a beard and has been out for two months; he didn’t even remember killing Conquest.

What I Disliked

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be when the Viltrumites take the fight to the Coalition of Planets. We get to see just how brutal they are as they slaughter everything and everyone in sight, literally. Techjacket is getting beaten by Anissa but is slaved by Mark.

Standout Character

I’m going to give this to Nolan. Nolan was pivotal for training Oliver and taking care of Mark while he was out.

Verdict

What an episode. This episode showcased the months of the war and the months that it took Mark to fully recover. Seeing how brutal the Viltrumites were and seeing how relentless they were in battle until they had to regroup was insane. I can not wait to see the next episode.
