What I Liked

1. I do like how the episode begins with Mark being helped back to the city and we see him rebuild the city for the aliens. Even though Mark does feel like it’s his fault, they explain that without him and his father there, they wouldn’t be alive.

2. Our alien friend who came to Earth and faked being a human and joined the Guardians of the Globe is actually the real reason a massive ship is coming to Earth from Mars with aliens that like to take control of a host.

3. Rex actually being useful in this episode. Not only does he come up with a plan to stop the threat from Mars, but he also comes to Atom Eve and gives her a fantastic speech about being a hero. He also wants her help with the alien issue.

4. The Guardians of the Globe manage to take the fight to the hive mind on the Mars battleship. Eve is struggling to hold her shield but it doesn’t last long as her shield shatters causing the team to be surrounded by the hive.

What I Disliked

The story with Donald. I’m just not interested in him being sad because Cecil saved his brain and made him into a robot, kept him alive, and just generally made him better.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be seeing the fight scene between Rex and his team against some villains. The brute of the villains is absolutely wrecking shop against one of the heroes, killing all of her duplicates and eventually her. Rex and his team take a beating with two of them being killed while Rex tries to escape he gets overwhelmed and the main villain of the team manages to get a gun to the back of Rex’s head… is he killed?

Standout Character

The standout character for me in this episode would be Rex without a doubt. While we don’t know what truly happened to him in the end, he did manage to kill two villains and give a pep talk to Eve.

Verdict

Overall a solid return episode for Invincible. The story was somewhat decent and the action was insanely bloody and just perfect. I can’t wait to see where the story goes within the second half of the season. I love that we’re two seasons in and still getting character development.
