Today is the release date of Predator Killer of Killers. I’ve been excited to see this animated movie since it was revealed shortly after Predator Badlands. I woke up this morning and immediately hit play on Killer of Killers.
The movie is fantastic. The animation is crazy good, and having used Unreal Engine to create this movie, I think it played a huge part in how the animation came together and delivered some of the best action within a Predator movie.
The movie showcased the Predators in such a fantastic way, although I do have a couple of issues with the movie and how it portrays the Predators we see throughout each time period. Do not get me wrong, the Predators were written in a way that showcased them as the strong hunters they are, but I do wish we had liked to see a couple of the Predators survive.
Each Predator we get introduced to ultimately dies at the hands of the human they are hunting by getting outsmarted. While obviously the Yautja race will come to learn from humans and their intelligence, I do wish one of the Predators survived, as they were designed incredibly well.
I do like how, ultimately, the movie introduced the Yautja’s ability to take a human or creature and freeze them in time so they can preserve them and ultimately either hunt them on a game planet or have them fight in an arena, as seen in this movie.
Seeing the Yautja arena as well as hundreds, if not thousands, of Predator spectators watching the human captives potentially fight one another. I also really like how this movie teased more animated movies, and I hope we actually get to see that happen, as they left on a tease of frozen in time, Naru, the Comanche warrior from the live-action Prey movie.
Predator Killer of Killers is every Predator fan’s dream, from different time periods to Predator kings to arenas. If this animated choice of movies for the Predator franchise leads to Dutch returning to the franchise, this will be the best thing in the Predator franchise yet.
Predator Killer of Killers debuts on Rotten Tomatoes at 100%.
