Superman and Lois has been greenlit for a third season which is brilliant news but can it outlast a third? It appears unlikely right now.
This show is one of the best superhero TV shows ever in my opinion. It’s so well done and Tyler Hoechlin does an incredible job as Clark Kent.
Now, it’s not just The CW canceling shows like they’re playing whack a mole which I’ll get onto in a moment. It’s also the fact Henry Cavill is returning as the Man of Steel on the big screen.
I’m overjoyed Henry has returned to his role and I am super excited to see where they go with it. I just cannot see both Tyler and Henry playing Superman who is easily the most iconic superhero to ever exist and always will be.
Although it has happened when a giant superhero has shared with two actors at the same time. Grant Gustin and Ezra Miller both portrayed Barry Allen (The Flash) so there is the scope for both Henry and Tyler to co-exist but I just can’t see it.
Then there’s the elephant in the room. The CW has binned nearly every single superhero show on their roster except this. I just can’t see the show being the only DC superhero show they keep on their books.
If The CW is truly done with the shows, then surely HBO Max should pick this up. It makes sense. We now know Superman & Lois is NOT part of the Arrowverse and as of now, it stands alone. This is a good thing for HBO Max as they still have that clean slate to use the show.
They already have Titans and Doom Patrol so having this, creates opportunities for Superman to actually exist in Titans. Superman is a character they have mentioned multiple times through Conner. The Tyler Hoechlin Superman is also an older version so it can easily happen. We know the only talk of Superman in Titans is rumors.
I didn’t want Stargirl to be canceled but in the end, I got it. This is one of those shows that I really believe should continue for as long as it possibly can. There is still so much more to explore and if The CW can’t see that, then that’s on them. I just hope James Gunn can see this show is special and it deserves to be kept on, however they do it.
