Why It’s Time to Introduce Miles Morales Into Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland recently confirmed that Spider-Man 4 will go ahead. We have written about this on our site which you can read here.

Holland has featured more as Spider-Man than any other in the TV/movie side of things with 3 full solo films, and appearances in Captain America: Civil War, Infinity War & Endgame.

The best thing about him is that he’s still young. He’s 27 years old but looks far younger which always helps, meaning he’s still got a lot left in him.

When we move forward to the 4th film which is probably still at least 2-3 years away, we need to look at introducing Miles Morales into the picture.

Miles himself has discovered great success in recent years especially in his 2 animated movies, Into and Across the Spiderverse. He also found further success in the Insomniac PlayStation games, so much so he was given a standalone spin-off.

Now, we know Miles does exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was briefly mentioned in the first film where Peter put on that weird voice and trapped the guy’s hands to the boot of the car. This is Miles’s uncle, Aaron Davies. He mentions he has a nephew in the city he wants to keep safe, this is in reference to Miles.

It’s now time to introduce him. We don’t know how young Miles is in that film but I think the 4th should fully introduce him throughout, especially the spider bite.

Miles comes with a new array of powers including invisibility and an ability to harness electricity. His suit would also look exceptionally beautiful in live-action. There’s just so much more Miles brings to the table at this stage.

We’ve seen the Peter story play out so many times. It gives the producers free rein with the show considering Miles was only created in 2011. This allows fresh new ideas and stories to form.

I love Tom Holland as Peter Parker but Tobey Maguire’s first film came out over 21 years ago. Since then we’ve had 2 reboots and it’s all been about Peter Parker. It’s fine to an extent but there needs to come a time when we move on.

It would be lovely to see Tom Holland pass the torch on considering (in my opinion) he’s been the best Spider-Man we’ve had in live-action by a country mile.

Either way, we’ll see what happens with the next installment. It’s exciting for sure. We don’t expect the film to be released any earlier than late 2024.
