Season 1 Episode 7 – “The X-Men finds Sentinel inventor Bolivar Trask, realizing they’ve been played by a mastermind.”

What I Liked

1. The episode begins on a sad note, the funeral for Gambit. Nightcrawler is the priest for the ceremony and he delivers one hell of a speech that even Gambit would be proud of. Honestly, this was so sad to witness.

2. Rogue in a fit of rage and still distressed from the death of Gambit, goes and attacks a military base. The general of the base tells his men they will be fine because this place was built to hold the Hulk. Rogue absolutely demolished the base looking for Trask.

3. WE GOT CAPTAIN AMERICA IN THE SERIES? This is so great to see Cap in the series and it looks great seeing Rogue hold the shield. Since Cap won’t help Rogue and has to do it by the books to find Trask, she takes his shield and throws it into the mountains.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

Rogue drops Trask from the top of the building to the shock and horror of the X-Men. The X-Men get attacked by a mutated human Sentinel. This new version of Trask took down Rogue with one hit so the X-Men can not pull their punches this time. Trask takes many full-blown hits from the X-Men and tanks it until Cable returns.

Standout Character

Rogue takes the standout character in this episode by a landslide. Seeing her go all-out with her powers and even go as far as dropping Trask off of a building was intense.

Verdict

This was a really intense and emotional episode. The episode started off with the funeral for Gambit and showcased each member’s sadness towards the loss of Gambit. Seeing how Rogue was dealing with it in this episode was insanely intense and absolutely fantastic to see.
