What I Liked

1. Quite an eerie start to the episode which I did like. Dreamer is next up on the episode and she’s having dreams of Iris being killed.

I’m more of a fan of the thriller aspect of the scene. We also see Dreamer seemingly capable of attempting to cast her powers, something we never got to truly see in Supergirl.

2. Mentions of Supergirl, Brainiac, John, Cisco, the Legends, and Diggle from Barry who is trying to seek out help for Iris and Nia. It’s always a nice touch to hear past characters being mentioned. I wouldn’t mind Cisco returning for the final season though.

3. Nia finally finds everything she’s been searching for. The cloaked presence following them around is in fact there to help, despite the mysterious feeling surrounding it. It’s actually the original Dreamer. She gives Nia more power and seemingly more control. It’s weird because Nia could easily handle a spin but instead, we got Gotham Knights. Thanks, CW 😀

What I Disliked

1. Iris being killed is the cause of the episode. COME ON! Surely the creative team can be a bit more, you know, creative? I’m sick of this same storyline where it’s iris’ life on the line. The only link Nia and Iris has is through journalism. This makes no sense.

2. I’m sorry but these filler spots with Mark and Khione are just not entertaining or interesting either. It’s blatantly obvious it’s filler. They can do more with these characters except give them a pointless arc just to fill in the episode. It’s even worse considering Nia and Iris aren’t getting better and they’re off to a pub. Okay.

3. Another episode with no Flash whatsoever. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I get it. It makes sense to take a breather from the star character in order to further push the side characters. However, this is the FINAL season! It should be explosive, everything should be incredible except it’s not. Arrow never did this in the final season and it’s just wasting episodes considering in 6 episodes time, this show is over.

4. Khione’s powers seemingly show goddess types. The issue I have with this is that it’s far too late. I fully believe they’re making a mistake in developing Khione this late on. It’s the same issue with Dreamer. They’ll slowly push it along to the point we’ll never see the true capability of the power. Character development in a final season should not be a thing. There’s been a full 8 seasons before this to do that.

Favorite Moment

Nah to be fair, that clothesline from Iris in the dream was actually pretty damn cool. I really liked that. That was the best moment of the episode.

Standout Character

There are no real standouts in this episode but I still give it to Nia. More so because despite how poor the episode was, it was still nice to see her back. I’ve said it since Supergirl ended, she could easily handle a spin-off show but we know the Arrowverse is done in just a few weeks.

Verdict

This was not a great episode in the grand scheme of things. The Nia and Iris arc was alright, nothing spectacular but this is the final season of The Flash. There shouldn’t be episodes dedicated to finishing Nia’s story off because Supergirl failed to do so. This season should be all about The Flash with these types of characters returning to somewhat help, similar to how Arrow did it. It’s poor. It’s not great at all considering how many episodes are left. There has been next to no direction to this season whatsoever.
